February weekends always hit different peeps! And last weekend was no different because the NFL’s Super Bowl LIX took place. Now naturally, not everyone is football-inclined, but everyone is halftime show-inclined! Of course, Kendrick Lamar came in, served, and left that arena. But what he also served was some fashion that didn’t go over our heads! Along with more stars, we saw some cool kicks, some basic made cool, and others unreleased heat. So, let’s check out this year’s Super Bowl sneakers and what we know about them, shall we?
Kenny’s Super Bowl Sneakers – Always Go for the Classics!
We all know that Kendrick is a die-hard Nike kinda guy. And well, he got us all used to seeing him digging them classics up and wearing them. Of course, he didn’t disappoint with his Super Bowl sneakers, at all! You see, he brought out the Nike Air DT Max 96 and rocked it unapologetically. Now, this shoe has layers of tributes! So back in 1996, Tinker Hatfield designed these babies as the third signature sneakers for the NFL legend Deion Sanders. You can understand how that feels like a full-circle moment now, can’t you? Oh, and fun fact, did you know that after wearing the kicks, the trading over them shot up 413%?
SZA Dressed in That Kill Bill Fit & Them Chucks
You didn’t think that Kenny would put on a show without SZA making an appearance, did you? Well, the Kill Bill artist certainly got us seeing All The Stars with her performance. And of course, her outfit was a whole other story! She went out wearing all red, complimenting the whole stage and choreography design. Now, when we say all-red, we mean down to the kicks! You see, she brought out the classic Converse Chuck 70 also in all-red. Add to that her red hair and the whole outfit was a winner!
Serena Williams – The Wild Card Nobody Saw Coming!
So, during the performance that will go down history as lowkey the pettiest, so much went on. You see, out of nowhere, the GOAT Serena Williams showed up, Crip-walked in style, and left! And when we say in style, we mean that she wore a royal blue Nike outfit which is part of the new 24.7 collection. But it was here Super Bowl sneakers that actually caught sneakerheads’ attention. She actually wore an unreleased upcoming A Ma Maniere Converse collab that features a hand-dyed blue upper to match her outfit! If there was doubt about the success of this release before, now there isn’t.
All In All, The Super Bowl Sneakers Delivered!
New Orleans, the Chiefs & Eagles, as well as Kendrick & Co. all lived up to our Super Bowl LIX expectations! And honestly, a diss track that a whole stadium sings along with will never not be iconic. So, whether you were locked in for the Super Bowl sneakers or the petty fest, we get it! But now, it’s time to lock in, because some heat is hitting the sneaker industry, and you’ll wanna know all about it. Godspeed!
