Sneaker Mules – Who Made Them a Thing in the Industry?

Alright so, every now and then, the sneaker industry comes across a trend that makes no sense. Still, everyone totally digs that stuff, and brands swamp us with their releases. And the last couple of years were heavily influenced by the stay-at-home mentality. But how does that reflect on the sneaker industry? Well, aside from slides, Foam Runners, and their dupes, the industry also embraced sneaker mules! We wish we were kidding, but we’re not. So, today we’re gonna find out what’s up with this peculiar design and why people like it!

What Are Sneaker Mules?

Before we answer that question, we gotta talk about mules themselves. Mules are backless shoes that could be either flat or high-heeled. In fact, the name dates back to Ancient Rome, but they didn’t look like today’s mules. The modern-day mule design has been around since the 1600s, and they had historically different uses. And in the last two years, they came back with vengeance! From influencers to fashion runways, everyone was rocking the shoes.

Now let’s say you want the comfort of sneakers and the breathability of mules, what should you get? Well, sneaker brands made the choice easier with sneaker mules, aka the perfect mashup (kinda debatable but okay). But well, if you’re looking for comfy and breathable kicks, then this will totally be a great addition to your sneaker closet!

Best Sneaker Mules to Add to Your Rotation

Winter might be rolling over, but there’s no reason to not add sneaker mules to your closet. If you’re still working from home (aka lucky), then these will totally come in handy. However, if you’re back in the office, here’s a list of kicks that will keep you comfy! Now, back to the mules and the brands that hopped on the bandwagon, shall we?

Vans Slip-On Mules

So here, you have two options, you can go for classic Slip-Ons in mule cut, or further up your game. Why settle for normal linings when you could go the extra mile with cozy linings? However, the cozy lining Vans Mules kinda feel like slippers, we’d recommend you keep them for home use or sleepovers! Our personal favorite is totally the checkered colorway because it’s a classic.

Nike Court Legacy Mules

You didn’t expect the biggest sneaker brand not to ride the latest hype wave, did you? The FlyEase movement is without a doubt a game-changer for sneakerheads, and then there are the mules! If you’re looking for 100% hands-free shoes, then look no further. The Nike Court Legacy has the cushioning you love by Nike with a whiff of vintage Nike designs!

Adidas Superstar Mules

Okay, gotta admit, we didn’t expect these to be a thing… but they are. We’re still on the fence about these, but you like them, you like them. There’s nothing to hate about the Superstar Mules, but the fact that they’re missing the heels could put you off for a sec. Other than that, the mules kept the exact design as the classic Superstars. Oh, and want more? The classic Stan Smiths are also available in mules version, and they’re valuable, go figure!

Reebok Club C Mules

When we said sneaker mules became a “thing” we weren’t exaggerating. Another classic silhouette joined the mule ranks: Reebok Club C! However, unlike Adidas, Reebok ditched the laces in this design. So if you’re looking for a design that makes sense, this could be it!

New Balance 2002R SNS Mules

We were half-expecting that, to be fair. New Balance made a bang in the sneaker industry in the last couple of years. It also proved that it can obviously be more than the “dad shoe company”. So it wasn’t a complete shock when NB dropped its own take on sneaker mules! Gotta say though, the choice of the silhouette is pretty cool because the 2002Rs are very nice. In fact, the 2002R is one of the most popular NB silhouettes, so it kinda makes sense!

Balenciaga Sneaker Mules

Last, but not least, the Balenciaga saga continues! If you have an appetite for luxury brands and hype, these Balenciaga Track Sneaker Mules are it. Gotta give it to the brand though, they chose their most comfortable kicks and made a mule version of them. So if you’ve got the money for it, these babies are a must-have!

Wanna Buy Sneaker Mules for Retail?

Or just plain kicks to start a sneaker collection or a resale business? Well, you’ll need to keep your eye on different websites and sneaker blogs. But even the best of us could miss out on hot drops, so make sure you get a sneaker bot to help you out! If you wanna learn all about sneaker botting, check this out. But in short, a bot like NSB can give you better chances at getting the sneakers you love. And why settle for one pair when you can cop in bulk? But before you do that, make sure you have what it takes to be a sneaker reseller! Godspeed
