Nike is one of the world’s biggest sneaker and sportswear brands, and nobody can deny that. However, even the giants have their down moments, and 2024 was that moment for the Swoosh. Between the big stock value and revenue drop and the lukewarm state of the sneaker industry, it wasn’t the brand’s best year. But now, things are about to change with many amazing partnerships and brands on board. Now, one of these new plans is the upcoming NikeSKIMS sub-brand! Will that make us wanna keep up with the Kardashians? Let’s find out!
A Quick Look at SKIMS the Brands!
Before we get into the NikeSKIMS discussion and why it deserves a chance, we wanna talk about the partners. Nike doesn’t really need the introduction, but if you wanna refresh your memory, the brand history is all here. But let’s talk about SKIMS now! In June 2019, Kim Kardashian launched her shapewear brand SKIMS. It was totally on-brand for her, and the company became an immediate success. In fact, it blew its competitors out of the water!
Now the brand not only revolutionized shapewear, but it has grown beyond that to collaborate with big companies. The latest collab that resonated in the industry was SKIMS x The North Face! The limited edition collection was simple, monochromatic, and successful! In fact, the items are pretty profitable on the aftermarket, so that’s a pretty solid indicator. And now, the NikeSKIMS took the industry by storm the moment the two brands announced it!
NikeSKIMS – Empowering Women Athletes One Item at a Time!
Okay so, when it comes to training gear for women, Nike is alright, but it definitely isn’t the best. That left a market opening for brands like Lululemon and others to swoop in and offer what Nike lacked. However, with the CEO change, it seems like more and more ideas for improvement are on the table. And one of these ideas is to improve the women’s activewear department.
Now, that’s exactly where NikeSKIMS comes in! According to the team behind it, the new Nike sub-brand is all about making women athletes feel and look good. It will merge Nike’s technology with SKIMS’ attention to form for every body shape. But the coolest thing is that this collab won’t only include apparel. It will also include footwear and accessories, so we can’t wait to see what NikeSKIMS is cooking!
As for the release details, we can expect the first collection to roll out in the US at select retailers and on Nike.com. This collection will land sometime during Spring 2025, with the exact date TBD. However, in 2026, NikeSKIMS will get a global expansion for the fans worldwide! One thing’s for sure though… You’re gonna need to have a good bot to cop this collection for retail this year! After all, we all know that the demand will be way more than the supply. Luckily for you, the solution is NSB3, and it’s only a click away. In the meantime, make sure you keep an eye on our blog for more release deets soon. Godspeed!
