2024 is shaping up to be a pretty glorious year for the Nike Air Foamposite! The chunky silhouette may not be a favorite, but it certainly serves us with some of the hottest colorways. From the 2024 comeback of the riot-causing Galaxy Foamposites to the Nike Foamposite Eggplant, the year will be fire! So, let’s check out the Eggplant Posites and see why you’ll wanna cop these babies, shall we?

It’s Just Like 2009 Again!

So, the Nike Air Foamposite One dropped back in 1997, and it was Penny Hardaway’s favorite! According to Nike, the silhouette was an experimental step into sneaker design by Eric Avar. And well, that was one well-received experiment, especially by Penny Hardaway who loved it and rocked it on court. His pair certainly was a success, and it got a re-release in 2023! Now, one other pair that was pretty popular was 2009’s Nike Foamposite Eggplant.

In 2009, the Nike Foamposite Eggplant dropped. These babies were a tribute to 2008’s Nike Air Flightposite One Eggplant. But unknown to many today, the kicks gained popularity thanks to the rapper from DC, Wale. During 2008 and 2009, Wale grew in popularity, and to the Foamposite one along for the ride! So, we got music and sneakers in the same bag here too. Now the Nike Foamposite Eggplant was so popular that Nike brought the kicks back in 2010 due to popular demand!

Nike Foamposite Eggplant 2024 – Another Re-release We Love

So, we dug up the history of the colorway and why it’s this popular. But the 2024 comeback is not the first re-release. In fact, the second time the Nike Foamposite Eggplant dropped was in 2017!
