The Air Jordan legacy just keeps on growing and growing. And when a PE goes to an athlete, sneakerheads’ eyes automatically go there… and hearts. However, JB usually gives the public a consolation prize and makes the pain hurt less! And now, we’re finally getting a pair inspired by one of the most famous PEs that Gary Payton wore: the Jordan 12 Field Purple. Here’s everything you should know about this colorway and why you’ll wanna cop on drop day! But if you wanna check out more sneakers and keep up with industry news, our blog is at your service.
The year is 2003, and Gary Payton is a Los Angeles Lakers player. His nickname, The Glove, is thanks to his defensive abilities on the court! And during some of his games, he showed up in different colorways of Jordan 12 PEs. One of these colorways was a Lakers-esque black and purple AJ12. The kicks also featured ‘The Glove’ embroidery on the side of the heel, making them 1-of-1s. Since then, we never got that colorway as a public release. But that’s all about to change during Summer 2023!
As we already mentioned, the PEs are virtually non-existent. But well, now you have the chance to cop the closest thing to it. And we mean it’s the closest we’ll ever get unless Jordan Brand releases the real deal… which we know is a fat chance. Now, these babies will feature a black leather base, purple mudguards, and golden eyelets on the top! That color blocking is pretty dope even if it didn’t have that sentimental value!
The upcoming Jordan 12 Field Purple will drop on August 19, 2023, and will retail for $200! And if you’re into sneakers to make some profit, $100+ is some decent profit. You see, you can actually flip these babies for $330 on average. But let’s be real, this pair deserves to be in every sneakerhead’s sneaker collection. And if you know how to style them right, they sure will be head-turners!
Whether you want the Field Purple 12s or even something else, we recommend you get yourself a sneaker bot. And if you’re new to that, our blog has the best guides to get you started with sneaker botting. But that’s not all there is to the sneaker industry, once you get copping, you can start a resale business. If you’ve got what it takes, sneaker reselling can become your side hustle! From extra cash to building a network of sneakerheads, you’ll thrive once you get the hang of it all. But make sure you know where to sell your kicks for the best profit you can make! Godspeed.
