God-fearing Jerry Lorenzo, the founder of Fear of God, has had the opportunity to work alongside huge names during the start of his career. Recently, he’s had his biggest break yet, collaborating with Nike, arguably the most influential sneaker and athletic wear leader today. While joint collections dropped earlier this month, the Fear of God Nike collaboration shows no sign of ending soon. In fact, it will continue into the next year with a release already scheduled in January 2019.
Jerry Lorenzo was raised by a religious family, with whom he read devotions every day. He grew up and made it the inspiration for his luxury streetwear fashion brand. Celebrities ranging from the Kardashian-West-Jenners to Justin Beiber have expressed interest in the brand. Today, he’s collaborating with one of the biggest names in the sportswear industry, Nike.
Nike Air Fear of God 1, with its military boot aesthetics, is simple yet tactical. It is subtle and classy when it comes to branding. The silhouette is basic and dynamic enough to match with almost anything you wear.
More colorways of the silhouette are due for Spring/Summer 2019, and Lorenzo himself has already debuted a bright yellow version of the pair. According to @py_rates, more colorways will include an “Orange Pulse,” “Frosted Spruce,” and “Sail/Black”.
They retailed for $395 USD, but a quick look into StockX will show you that this collaboration is of high value. The Light Bone colorway of this silhouette has an average retail price of $1,200+.
A new model has surfaced, the FoG Nike Air Moccasin. The laceless mid-cut design features a large midfoot strap. The Particle Beige upper sits atop a Sail midsole which features a translucent Air unit similar to that of the Air Fear of God 1. Finally, branding comes in the form of a little black Swoosh on the midfoot strap which contrasts the light color of the shoe.
Nike Air x FoG Moccasin
Prediction: This silhouette will not make as big of an impact at the previous Air FoG 1. However, it’s still a Fear of God Nike collab, so we expect there to be some kind of niche willing to grab at this pair.
Rumor has it these kicks will be dropping on many sites including FearOfGod which is supported by NSB.
