Although 2022 marked the 50th anniversary of the silhouette, brands are still celebrating the Cortez in 2023! And one of these brands is the Hong Kong-based CLOT, which skillfully reflects its roots in Nike collabs. Obviously, the new Clot Nike Cortez checks all these boxes and then some! So let’s take a look at what these babies are bringing to the table, shall we? But just in case you’re looking for something more lovey-dovey, the Nike Valentine’s Day pack won’t disappoint!
Before we get into the release, we always must have a lil brand discussion. So, back in 2003, Edison Chen and Kevin Poon founded Clot in Hong Kong. The aim of the brand was to make western clothes and their eastern heritage meet through contemporary fashion. It didn’t take long for Nike to notice the brand, and their first collab took place in 2006. Clot’s Nike Air Max 1 Kiss of Death was a turning point for the partnership with the brand becoming a recurring collaborator. And now, the Clot Nike Cortez is certainly a cool milestone for the partnership!
If you’re not familiar with previous collaborations, Nike did a cute recap of their releases here. One thing’s for sure though, all the kicks they dropped had a cool and interesting twist to them. Whether it’s a removable upper or more, there’s always a nice addition to what would otherwise be a classic silhouette. And the new Clot Nike Cortez is not different!
The pair certainly looks eye-catching from the first moment you see it. However, the cool element goes beyond the surface. For example, instead of the classic Cortez upper, we have a removable sleeve. Kinda reminds us of the UGG boot guard that we discussed here if you ask us! However, this sleeve has a pull cord with a Yin-Yang lace lock. And when you take off the sleeve, it’s still wearable alone, reminiscent of classic slip-ons.
Moreover, the shoe inside the sleeve is all-white with a black swoosh and Kung Fu calligraphy on the heels. You can also wear these babies stand-alone, and they give a Kung Fu shoe vibe! And finally, you can wear the kicks with the sleeve on obviously, which gives us a 3-in-1 shoe deal. That sounds like a winner, doesn’t it?
As far as news goes, the Clot Nike Cortez will drop on February 10, 2023, and will retail for $150. That might sound like a lot for the Cortez, but a pair like this is definitely a must-have. You see, these babies’ resale value currently stands at an average of $265. And if previous Clot x Nike collabs are any indication, then the kicks will definitely be worth it! So make sure when drop day comes that you have the right sneaker bot for the job.
If you wanna cop from Clot’s Juice Store, which is a Shopify site, then you should get an all-in-one bot like NSB. We’ve been killing it on Shopify for a while now, and with the upcoming new module, it’s gonna be better than ever! And if you’re looking to cop from Nike SNKRS then we also prepared a list of the best Nike bots for you. Mind you, NSB3 is coming, and it will also support Nike. So make sure you get your copy today to take your botting experience to the next level! Godspeed
