Adidas Samba – It’s the Silhouette’s Time in the Spotlight!

The sneaker industry is always looking for the next big thing, and we get it. We always wanna find the newest hype kicks and cop, which is how the market generally works. However, once in a blue moon, you get that classic pair that just breaks all the rules. And the pair in question this time is none other than the Adidas Samba! But what exactly is this popularity about? And where did these kicks go right? Let’s find out together! And just in case you’re looking for something juicier these Grinch Forums are coming soon, and they’re worth it.

Adidas Samba – A Piece of Sneaker History!

Just for reference, the silhouette came out back in 1949, which makes it 74 years old in 2023. That’s a long time for a shoe to stay in demand and production, so kudos to them. Now, the original goal of this silhouette was to provide traction on icy soccer (or football) fields. But well, the kicks’ popularity transcended its original utility. So, in the 1970s, 5-a-side soccer courts became popular and the Adidas Samba became an “indoor” court shoe.

Fast forward to the 1990s, and skateboarding became the cool kid sport. However, sneaker brands weren’t catering to that demographic yet, so people got creative. And on their hunt for the best skating shoes, skaters rediscovered the Adidas Samba. With its great traction, it meant it would be a great skating shoe! If you wanna read more on the history of the silhouette, check this out. Now, fast forward to 2022, and Adidas Samba became a fashion statement. So let’s check out where this lifestyle appeal comes from!

2022’s Adidas Samba – Adored by Celebs and Fashion Houses!

If you like your celebrity news, you’ll know that the coolest celebs are rocking the Adidas Samba! And if you’re wondering who those are, the list is pretty long! However, we’re gonna list some of the celebrities that expressed their love for that silhouette many times.

  • Kendall Jenner
  • Bella Hadid
  • Rihanna
  • A$AP Rocky
  • Frank Ocean and many more…

Each of these celebrities styled the kicks differently! And if you ask us, they all look excellent. That definitely makes the sneakers classics that can go with any outfit or occasion. Moreover, the sneakers caught some positive heat with the awesome collabs with different fashion houses and franchises. For example, the Star Wars franchise and Wales Bonner fashion house are pretty cool collaborators. And of course, the upcoming Pharrell x Humanrace Adidas Samba is an interesting pair to look forward to!

Will the Silhouette Follow the Nike Dunk Road?

So, we all witnessed the rise and fall of the Dunks… multiple times! We all sleep on the kicks for a while, and then they come back stronger and with more hype. And that kinda leaves us with a question: will the Adidas Samba follow that same fate? Or will it keep the same value through the years like the Air Force 1? That remains to be seen! But with Yeezys no longer the main Adidas money maker, the three stripes should definitely up their hype game. If you wanna know more about what went down with Yeezys (literally), click here.
