Today’s news will truly mark the end of an era right here! The Adidas x Yeezy legacy finally reached its end… officially. Although the partnership ended way back in 2022, the drama certainly dragged on for nearly 3 years now. But now we’re in 2025, and after several waves of Yeezy drops and clearance prices, we’re done. And not in a “we might get more Yeezys back” way. This time, Adidas cleared all the Yeezy stock once and for all! So, where do we go from here?
Adidas Officially Sells Its Remaining Yeezys
After a couple of rocky years post-breakup, Adidas has struggled with the remaining Yeezy stock! The brand faced a lot of economic challenges and losses since the breakup. So naturally, they decided to sell the remaining stock and donate part of the proceeds back to organizations that fight antisemitism. This is all because of the backlash Adidas faced following Kanye’s antisemitic comments. Now, these releases happened over several waves, with many kicks finding their way to the clearance shelves.
Fast forward to 2025, and Adidas announced that it sold its last pairs of Yeezys at the end of 2024. According to their CFO: “There is not one YEEZY shoe left, it has all been sold and that episode is behind us.” Now, the sales of the remaining inventory made Adidas about €500 million, part of which went to the associations we previously mentioned. And you know what that means… It means that the brand is now officially unassociated with Yeezy the brand. Now it seems that Adidas can’t wait to put the whole Yeezy affair behind it and move on. So, what does this mean for the future of the brand in the sneaker industry?
What Happens Now?
Now that Adidas is ready to move on, that leaves us with an important question on our hands. What will happen to the brand on the hype level? We already know that Yeezys are what gave Adidas that push to compete when it comes to hype. And while they have pretty successful performance lines like the Anthony Edwards signature kicks, it’s still a challenge to compete with brands like Nike. However, time will tell if the three-stripes brand wil have some tricks up its sleeve. And if they do, you better be ready by knowing how to score kicks for retail. Godspeed!
