A couple of weeks later, Kanye West is still a hot online topic. With the end of the Yeezy x Adidas partnership, so many changes went into motion. From Ye’s net worth tanking to factory layoffs and Yeezy values changing, a lot is going on. And one of the first responders after the breakup was Footlocker. So how fast did Footlocker Yeezys come off the shelves? And what other brands dropped Ye too? Let’s find out together! And just in case you’re not in the loop, Nike and Kyrie also had their fallout just last week.
Footlocker Yeezys No More!
Okay, here’s all the tea we have about the topic! So, right after the news of Adidas dropping Kanye, an internal message went out to Footlocker employees. In that memo, Footlocker asked the employees to remove any Yeezy products from their sales floors. They also mentioned that they should keep the kicks in the backrooms until further notice.
And right after the internal memo, Footlocker made the following public statement. “Foot Locker, Inc. does not tolerate any form of anti-Semitism or hateful and discriminatory behavior. While we remain a partner with Adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections — we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites.” So, if you were looking for a pair of Yeezys on Footsites, you won’t find any.
But It’s Not Only Footlocker Yeezys…
Footlocker was just one retailer of many. In addition to the removal of Footlocker Yeezys, many retailers took down their Yeezy sale pages online (and definitely physically). So when you look up the kicks, you’ll find that the page doesn’t exist anymore. However, there’s always a way to get your hands on these babies. Many will hate to hear it, but it’s the resale market for you. Platforms like StockX, GOAT, and more, are your last resort. You can check the full list of platforms here.
Who Else Dropped Ye?
Gotta admit the backlash was fast as if a flip was switched somewhere with Ye’s comments. And after Adidas and Footlocker, many retailers and collaborating brands followed suit. First, we got GAP which was already beefing with Ye who ended the contract in September. The retailer was gonna keep selling Yeezy GAP merch until it runs out. But well, Kanye kinda sped things up a little bit for the brand. That kinda leaves us wondering what the future of those clothes will be.
In addition to GAP, we’ve got fashion houses and more cutting ties with Ye. We’ve got Balenciaga, Vogue-slash-Anna Wintour, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), and TJ Maxx. In addition to all those names and brands, MRC Entertainment permanently shelved the completed documentary about Kanye West.
Since Footlocker Yeezys Are Gone, Now What?
Now that Footlocker Yeezys are not available, Yeezy GAP is out of the equation, where do sneakerheads go? Well, the swoosh still has a lot to offer its fanbase. From Jordans to Dunks and more, you can still pick up your things and get a move on! In fact, in a surprising move, Nike’s giving exclusive access to the Air Jordan 1 Lost & Found. The only condition for you to be a lucky winner is to be an unlucky entry in more than 20 Jordan 1 High releases. Which, let’s face it, isn’t a big number for serious sneakerheads.
Meanwhile, if you don’t have exclusive access, you’re gonna need a Nike bot. Here are the best Nike bots you can currently own. But to get the most out of your bot, you’ll need good proxies and Nike accounts. Just make sure you know your botting ABCs beforehand with this guide! Godspeed
