[Nov. 2024 Update] Well, it seems like the CLB era ain’t even remotely done. You see, the Drake Air Force 1 ‘Certified Lover Boy’ is making a comeback two years after its original release! These babies will hit once again on December 11, 2024, for $160, almost exactly two years from the date of the OG drop. Naturally, we can expect them to release on Nike SNKRS. But stores like Footdistrict currently have them listed too!
Now, according to the latest leaks and news, it doesn’t seem like this is the only Drake Air Force 1 on the horizon. Apparently, there are multiple colorways that are coming soon. From pastel yellow to pink and light purple, many drops seem to be in store. So, make sure you learn how to cop the hottest kicks for retail before release day rolls around!
Two albums and one potential lawsuit later, we finally have a release date for the Drake Air Force 1! Remember when we were ready to listen to CLB while rocking the kicks? Well, we did half of that while Nike and Drake chose to tease us for a year! And not that Her Loss dropped, we think it’s time to drop the kicks. So let’s check out what’s popping with the release, and all the industry drama! It’s always a pleasure when music and sneakers mix up, isn’t it?
A Little Recap of Our Favorite Drake Collabs!
The sneaker industry keeps crossing paths with music. Although the Kanye x Adidas breakup marked the end of an era, Yeezys will always be a game-changer sneaker line. We still have Travis Scott’s hype collabs though. And let’s not forget that Travis Scott’s Jordan 1 Phantom is coming soon! Point is, music and sneakerheads almost always go hand in hand, especially now.
But before we get into the upcoming Drake Air Force 1, we’ll take a look at some of his previous sneaker collabs! First up, we have the rare OVO Jordan 12 White and Gold. The pair was so iconic it sold out almost immediately. Today, the kicks are worth almost $977 on the resale market!
Next up, we’ve got the really awesome Jordan 4 Raptors OVO 2019 edition. The original Raptor 4s dropped in 2018. Anyway, these babies are worth an average of $460 today. The value of the kicks is increasing with time though. So better go and get your pair now if you’re working on a hot sneaker collection!
What Went Down in 2022 Before the Drake Air Force 1?
We gotta say it, sometimes, Hollywood and celebrities get… creative! So drake and 21 Savage dropped “Her Loss” and it’s a cool album, to say the least. And to promote that album, they dropped a fake Vogue cover online and glued it around different cities. Of course, that didn’t sit well with Anna Wintour, who went to court and sued Darke and 21 Savage for that.
As of now, a federal judge sided with Vogue and issued a temporary restraining order. It actually stops them from using the cover in any way. And naturally, they can’t use Anna Wintour’s image to promote their album either. Now the public has mixed feelings about these measures. Some are with it, while others are against it because they still remember the fake Vogue filter on Instagram!
Drake Air Force 1 – About Time!
So if you’re a devoted Drake fan, you’ll wanna know what’s up. The upcoming Drake Air Force 1 is literally everything you need in your sneakerhead life. I mean, we’re still salty about taking Ls on previous OVO collabs, so we don’t wanna miss this! And because YOLO is the motto, you should go and try to cop this pair.
Although at first sight the sneakers look like any all-white Air Force 1, it’s actually all in the details! The Drake Air Force 1 features an all-white leather upper, laces, and outsole. What actually matters is the details on the midsole though. Instead of the Air branding near the heel, we got “love you forever” in cursive! The next detail needs a really sharp eye to catch. A heart pattern on the front of the outsole replaces the usual star pattern. Oh, and the accessory of choice that will come with the kicks is ABC ice cube dubraes!
Release Details
We finally have it! If rumors are true (and many times they are) the upcoming AF1 by Drizzy will drop on December 2, 2022. However, the kicks will retail for a whopping $160, but this is fine! They’re worth about $300 in resale, which is some decent profit if you ask us. And who knows? If the stock ends up being low, the kicks might shoot up in value!
